Netgear AC 1900 (C7000v2) - How to Set Up DNS Filters

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Please ensure that any Parental Controls from Netgear are turned OFF after logging into your router administrative settings.  Their Parental Controls will cause conflicts with FreeFiltering.

You'll need to set up your Netgear router to use our "Standard DNS Servers" located on your "Settings" page:

  1. Go to www.routerlogin.net from a browser that is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Enter the username and password.
The default username should be admin. The default password should be password.  (Unless you've customized them at some point in the past.)  If admin and password don't work, check your router box for a sticker that might list a different default username and password.  After successfully logging in, we recommend changing the password for logging into your router and storing it securely.  This will prevent someone from logging into your router and making unauthorized changes.
The BASIC tab is shown by default.
  3. Ensure that Parental Controls from Netgear are DISABLED - they will cause conflicts with FreeFiltering!
  4. Click the "Advanced" tab.

  5. Click Setup.

  6. Click "Internet Setup" under "Setup".
  7. In the Domain Name Server (DNS) Address section, click the radio button for Use these DNS Servers.
  8. Enter the "Standard DNS Server" addresses found on your FreeFiltering "Settings" page as the primary DNS and secondary DNS addresses.
  9. Click Apply.

  10. After the new DNS settings have been applied, try visiting several of the abortion provider websites listed here to ensure your filters are working.
