Zyxel - VMG4381-B10A - How to Set up DNS Filters

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Please ensure that any Parental Controls you find in the Zyxel router settings are turned OFF after logging into your router's administrative settings.  If they have Parental Controls, they could cause conflicts with FreeFiltering.

You'll need to set up your Zyxel router to use our "Standard DNS Servers" located on your "Settings" page:

  1. Go to http://192.168.1.1/ from a browser that is connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Enter the username and password.
The default username should be admin. The default password should be 1234.  (Unless you've customized them at some point in the past.)  If admin and 1234 don't work, check your router box for a sticker that might list a different default username and password.  After successfully logging in, we recommend changing the password for logging into your router and storing it securely.  This will prevent someone from logging into your router and making unauthorized changes.
  3. Click "Network Setting".  Then click "Home Networking".
  4. Scroll down the page until you see "DNS Values".  Click "Static".  Then, enter the "Standard DNS Servers" located on your FreeFiltering "Settings" page.  It does not matter what order you enter them in!  NOTE:  Your "Standard DNS Servers" may be different than those pictured below.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Apply".

  6. IMPORTANT:  You will need to re-boot the router for the settings to take effect.  The easiest way to do this is to unplug the power for 60 seconds & then plug it back in.
  7. After you have re-booted, try visiting several of the abortion provider websites listed here to ensure your filters are working.
